The questions we are asked most, answered plainly. Still unsure? Get in touch and we will help.

Why start with a plan instead of just planting?

Because the plan is the cheapest part of the garden and it stops the expensive mistakes. A scaled drawing means you plant once, build in the right order, and never pay to undo work later.

How much does a garden plan cost?

It depends on the size and complexity of the site. After a first visit we give you a fixed fee for the plan, with no surprises, so you can decide before committing.

Do you work across all of Canterbury?

Yes. We are based in Christchurch and design gardens across the wider Canterbury region. If you are not sure whether we reach you, just ask.

Can I build the garden in stages?

Yes, and we plan for it. The build order is set out so you can complete a section each season as budget allows, and each stage still looks finished.

Do you plant the garden as well as design it?

We design and oversee, and the planting and build are carried out by trusted Canterbury teams we have worked with for years, to the detail in your plan.

How long does a plan take?

Most plans take three to five weeks from the first site visit, allowing time for two rounds of revisions so the drawing genuinely fits how you live outside.
